FIELD: road safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of technical means for ensuring road safety. The system for warning road users about the presence of pedestrians at or near a pedestrian crossing includes four columns that limit the pedestrian crossing at the corners, on which sensors for detecting the presence of objects operating on the principle of crossing the beam and/or motion detectors and automatic control equipment are installed. The columns are made in the form of thin-walled pipes made of diffusely transparent composite material reinforced with glass fiber in the annular and axial directions with a tensile strength of at least 150 MPa, inside which linear LED linear lamps are installed, the length of which is equal to the length of the above-ground part of the columns minus the base, color , the brightness and glow mode of which change depending on the presence or absence of pedestrians, whose light, passing through the walls of the pipes, is scattered, forming the effect of a diffusely luminous outer surface.
EFFECT: increased visibility of signaling the presence of pedestrians at the crossing and near it for all road users.
