FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to installations for special gravimetric studies of corrosion processes occurring during periodic contact of a metal surface with water and gas phases. The method for corrosion testing and the stand for its implementation consists in modeling the operating conditions of equipment and pipelines operating in two-phase (gas/liquid) media with periodic contact with them. The task set is achieved by conducting tests in sealed test cells with screw caps and sealing elements capable of withstanding heating up to 80°C and the internal pressure generated during heating, and excessive partial pressures of aggressive gases over 0.1 MPa and up to 0.5 MPa. Inside the cells, the test samples are placed at the maximum distance from each other using special fixators that are inert with respect to the test media and samples at all test temperatures. The arrangement of the samples leads to the fact that they alternately fall from the gas phase to the liquid phase and back at the same time.
EFFECT: accurate assessment of the equipment corrosion hazard, the properties of materials and protective coatings is achieved.
