FIELD: generation of gases.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of liquefaction or solidification of gases, namely, to methods and processes for producing liquefied natural gas. Method for producing liquefied natural gas includes separation of the feed stream of natural gas into process and production streams. The process stream is directed to an expansion apparatus, in particular, a turbo expander. The production stream is directed for cooling and liquefaction. Prior to feeding into the expansion apparatus, the process stream is heated in heat exchangers by the heat energy of the gas transferred by the refrigeration cycle from the production stream to the process stream, and the internal energy of compressed gas extracted in the expansion apparatus is used to compress the refrigerating agent of the refrigeration cycle and cool the production gas stream thereby combining the heating of the natural gas before the expansion apparatus, required by the process cycle, and the valuable use of the energy of compressed gas for producing liquefied natural gas.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of use of the heat energy of high-pressure compressed natural gas and reduction in the consumption of external resources for purifying and drying the natural gas to produce liquefied natural gas.
