FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. A subciliary skin incision is performed 2-3 mm below the eyelashes, a skin flap is separated along the entire length of the incision and up to the lower edge of the orbit, and the pretarsal portion of the orbicular muscle of the eye is isolated. The pretarsal portion of the circular muscle of the eye is bluntly separated from the tarsal plate and displaced 2 mm below the edge of the skin incision, a continuous suture is applied to the edges of the separated circular muscle, capturing the surface layers of the tarsal plate at a distance of 2 mm below the upper edge of the skin incision. After applying a continuous suture to the skin incision, the upper and lower eyelids are sutured together with three U-shaped sutures for three weeks.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to prevent recurrence of involutional volvulus by influencing its main pathogenetic mechanism and to prevent the development of eversion in the postoperative period.
