FIELD: personal care.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to hair care. The cosmetic composition for hair care contains 0.1-10 wt. % of low molecular silk fibroin and cosmetically acceptable carrier; where silk fibroin contains at least 85 wt. % of peptides with a molecular weight of less than 2500 Da and tyrosine of at least 10 mol. %, where the amino acid sequence of at least 50 wt. %,of peptides is GAGY, GAGAGAGY, GAGVGAGY or AWSSESDF, where silk fibroin is obtained by the following method: mixing an aqueous solution containing 0.01-20 wt. % of high molecular weight silk fibroin with an average molecular weight of 6-100 kDa, with α-chymotrypsin in a ratio of 100:1-300:1 parts by weight at a temperature of 25-45°C, at pH 6-9 for 4-24 hours; inactivation of excess α-chymotrypsin and separation of inactivated α-chymotrypsin from the reaction mixture; drying of the mixture to obtain low molecular weight silk fibroin. Also disclosed is a method for restoring, protecting and strengthening hair fibers, a method for giving smoothness to hair fibers.
EFFECT: invention provides penetration of low molecular weight silk fibroin into the core of the fibers.
