LIQUID RHEOLOGY MODIFIER Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC C09K8/02

Abstract RU 2773605 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to liquid modifiers of rheological properties of hydrocarbon-based drilling muds (HCBM). Invention is applicable for increasing the values of LSRV - rheological properties of the mud at low shear rates, improving the cleaning of horizontal boreholes, reducing the value of starting pressures when restoring circulation. The described technical result is achieved due to the rheology modifier constituting a composition including a petroleum-soluble polymer, a natural clay mineral. The modifier is made in the form of a suspension mixture, additionally contains multigrade hydraulic oil, soy phospholipids, and a xanthate gum biopolymer is used as a polymer.

EFFECT: hydrocarbon-based muds (HCBM) independently are drilling mud systems, providing water with the properties of a non-Newtonian fluid (viscosity characteristics); possibility of storage at low temperatures, passing up to several cycles of freezing without losing the qualitative characteristics of the product, is provided; composition has a stable structural and mechanical grid in a hydrocarbon-based dispersion medium, retaining and preventing the deposition of solid phase particles during storage and transportation; high suspension properties of the drilling mud are provided, ensuring the convenience of precise dosing, ease of polymer dispersion, and absence of polymer clumping issues; problems with intra-borehole delivery are eliminated, such as water mixing with clay in the wellbore.
