FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry, in particular to gravel packing of wells. The method includes the installation of at least one anti-sand filter placed around a pipe element in an openhole well, ensuring the circulation of pulp containing expanding gravel and a carrier fluid, the deposition of pulp in the annular space of the wellbore surrounding at least one sand filter in an alpha wave starting at the near-wellbore section of the annular space of the wellbore, detecting at least one of the following: the entry of an alpha wave at the bottom-hole section of the annular space of the wellbore and the beginning of a beta wave at the bottom-hole section of the annular space of the wellbore, the cessation of pulp circulation and the initiation of the expansion of expanding gravel to fill the annular space of the wellbore surrounding at least one sand filter above the alpha wave.
EFFECT: efficiency of gravel deposition increases due to the exclusion of voids, damage to filters is eliminated.
