SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of pulse technology and can be used in frequency converters for controlling alternating current electric motors. The digital modulator for the frequency converter contains generators 1 and 2 of rectangular pulses, counters 3, 4, 5 and 6, triggers 7, 8 and 9, element EXCLUSIVE OR 10, elements AND 11, 12 and 13, inverter 14, elements AND-NOT 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20, decoders 21, 22 and 23, shapers 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 pulses, adders 29 and 30, registers 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35, reset circuit 36, output buses 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 and 45, bus 46 of the angle setting signal, bus 47 of the signal characterizing the design, bus 48 of the first voltage setting signal, bus 49 of the second voltage setting signal and bus 50 of the synchronization signal.
EFFECT: decrease in the amplitude of the higher harmonics in the output voltage of the frequency converter and the provision of speed control for both asynchronous and synchronous motors.
