SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Silicon oil (SO) is removed from the interface between air and liquid media using a cannula. Install two 27 G ports and one 25 G port in a self-sealing manner. A balanced salt solution (BSS) is fed into the vitreous cavity. The SO is removed from the vitreal cavity using a 25 G ophthalmic cannula at a vacuum of 650 mm Hg. and simultaneously produce BSS irrigation into the vitreal cavity. Then, sterile air is supplied, with the help of a cannula, BSS and SO residues are removed from the vitreal cavity at the interface between air and liquid media, as soon as this border becomes visible, until the SO residues are completely removed. At the end of the operation, sterile air or BSS is left in the vitreal cavity or an air-gas mixture is introduced. Next, the ports with a caliber of 27 G are removed, before removing the port with a caliber of 25 G, a provisional suture is applied to the access, then the port is removed and at the same time a knot is tied.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to maximally remove silicone oil from the vitreal cavity with minimal trauma, reduce the number of postoperative complications, increase the reliability of the operation, and spend a minimum of time.
