FIELD: strength characteristics studying.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing for the study of the strength characteristics of a core with a broken structure by profiling. Fractured, shale, clayey, loose areas of the core are prepared for the study, as well as areas with poor preservation of the core material, areas of the core unsuitable for creating samples for geomechanical studies, the polymer is selected in such a way that the mechanical properties are obviously lower/higher relative to the studied core , and the viscosity of the polymer should be such that there is no deep penetration of the polymer into the pores of the core, the strength properties of the cross-linked polymer are calibrated. For a core with a broken structure, the core pipes are cut into equal sections of 1 meter each, the core pipes are cut longitudinally to the depth of the pipe thickness, then the upper part of the pipe is removed. The core with the remains of the lower part of the pipe, which acts as a tray, is placed in the device for creating an end load, a special form is put on the core column in the device for creating an end load, which has a cutout in the center for profiling, the form occupies 1/3 of the core. The space around the mold is sealed to prevent the polymer from flowing out, a polymer of the same brand and batch, on which the strength properties were calibrated, is poured into the mold, after the polymer has hardened, the end load is removed. The strength characteristics of a core segment are measured by profiling followed by core sawing in a ratio of 1/3 to 2/3, while most of the core remains unaffected by the polymer and is suitable for other types of research, a smaller part of the core is transferred for long-term storage.
