FIELD: material processing.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to laser or plasma cutting of parts of sheet material rolled into a roll. The proposed device contains a cutting position equipped with at least one laser or plasma head, which is moved inside a cutting working zone located above a chamber for receiving material particles formed during the cutting process, means for positioning a part of sheet material in the working zone on a cutting plane, and an electronic control unit. The device also contains at least one movable device for selective collection of processed parts, which can be moved under and parallel to the cutting plane between an active position, in which the collection device is located inside the cutting working zone, closing the chamber between the cutting plane and the bottom of the chamber, and a passive position, in which the collection device is located outside the cutting working zone outside the chamber. In this case, the electronic control unit is programmed to control the movement of the specified movable collection device between two positions in accordance with the execution of cutting operations. The proposed method includes the use of the claimed device for cutting parts.

EFFECT: separation of processed parts from both material particles and sheet material in a cutting zone, reduction in the risk of deformation of parts, and compactness of a device are ensured.
