SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of information technology. The moving object tracking system contains memory, several video cameras with an object tracker, and a data processing device. The data processing device is configured to bind video cameras to the terrain map, calibrate video cameras, receive video data from the first video camera, detect an object in the frame, assign a unique identification number (ID) to the object, analyze the geometry of the object’s movement with subsequent assessment of its direction of movement, predict the second video camera, in the field of view of which the object may appear. If the field of view of the first and second video cameras do not intersect, an object is detected in the field of view of the second video camera; construction on the basis of an artificial neural network of vectors of object features detected in the frame of video cameras; comparison of vectors; assignment to the object detected in the frame of the second video camera, of the same ID as the object detected in the frame of the first video camera, if the result of the comparison is greater than or equal to the threshold value.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy and speed of tracking moving objects.
