FIELD: rocket engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods and tools for launching LVs. Launch site consists of a vertical shaft with a circular cross section, the lower part whereof is filled with a calculated volume of water. A capsule including the LV, the ejection unit, and the ejected payload (upmass), is located higher on stops. Annular water cavities are made in the shaft of the launching tube above the process opening along the entire height. At launch, the lower volume of water is evaporated by electric heaters, and the jets of the jet engines of the LV subsequently create a large volume of a vapour-gas mixture when affecting the water. The increasing pressure of said mixture imparts the initial velocity and acceleration to the capsule exiting the launching tube shaft. Further acceleration and ascent of the LV are performed as normal.
EFFECT: achieved maximum possible velocity and acceleration at the exit of the LV from the launching tube, as a result reducing the required mass and number of LV stages for bringing the LV to orbit.
