FIELD: meat treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatuses (units) for heat treatment of food products. Smoking unit includes a smoking chamber and an outer pipe. The pipe comprises two walls: an inner wall and an outer wall. A cooling zone is provided between said inner and outer walls of the pipe, in communication with atmospheric air. A fire box with a grate and a fuel supply hopper located on top of the fire box are located in the inner space of the outer pipe. A smoke channel with a group of holes for the passage of smoke into the smoking chamber extends along the lower side of the food smoking chamber, wherein said smoke channel is connected with the outside of the fire box at one end. The fuel hopper is loaded with fuel, including charcoal, coarse coal, or wood fuel granules. As the fuel burns on the grate and turns into ash, the fuel from said hopper is supplied to the grate automatically, impacted by gravity. The flow of air passing through the grate and into the smoke channel is adjusted by means of a fan and gates.

EFFECT: application of a smoking unit with gravity-assisted fuel supply, in accordance with the invention, eliminates the need to gain access into the smoking chamber of said unit for the user in the process of smoking food products for the purpose of replenishing the reserve of solid fuel and removing ash with such access.
