SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective fences to ensure work below ground level, and, in particular, to a pre-erected system to ensure the safety of workers within a protected work area. The method for constructing a trench box consists in the fact that to form a protected working area on the excavation site, a trench box is erected in the form of a box structure, providing transportation of the box elements to the excavation site, while at least a pair of longitudinal elements and a pair of transverse elements are used to form a box structure, where the longitudinal elements are placed in the form of the protective walls are opposite each other, and the transverse elements are used to connect the mentioned walls. Before transporting the elements of the trench box to the excavation site, the longitudinal elements of the box in the form of protective walls and the transverse elements of the box are pivotally connected, the box is placed in the transport position due to the relative rotation in the hinge joints, ensuring that at least the walls approach each other when folding. The box in the transport position is delivered to the excavation site, and the construction of the trench box on the excavation site is carried out by transferring the box from the transport position to the working position due to its opening before the formation of a box structure and placing the resulting box structure on the excavation site with the formation of a protected working area in the inner space of the box structure. The opening of the box with the formation of a box structure is ensured by the relative rotation of the box elements in the hinges, for which the box is stretched in at least one of the directions, and the placement of the box structure in the opening area with the formation of a protected working area is carried out until the accommodation of the personnel in it.

EFFECT: reducing the costs of storing and transporting the device, reducing the time for deploying the device and preparing for the start of work, while increasing the safety of work by installing a protective device before moving workers to the work area in the trench.
