FIELD: carbon adsorbents production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of obtaining carbon adsorbents for the adsorption of organic substances, heavy metals and microflora from water and aqueous solutions based on graphite thermal soot containing С60fullerene. Also, the adsorbent is suitable for passive adsorption of organic substances from the gas-air mixture of the soil. The method for obtaining a carbon adsorbent includes treating a carbon material with a solution containing fullerene and a stabilizer that maintains fullerene in solution in a dispersed form, at a mass ratio of fullerene:stabilizer equal to 1:440000 for o-xylene, and fullerene:stabilizer 1:435000 for toluene. As a carbon material, graphitized thermal carbon black is used, for the treatment of which 104 g of a 1N NaOH solution containing fullerene in an amount of not more than 0.0002 g is used, to which a stabilizer selected from o-xylene and toluene is preliminarily added.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to modify the surface of a carbon material for passive adsorption of С5-С20 hydrocarbons with an aqueous solution containing С60 fullerene and a stabilizer selected from the group of aromatic compounds.
