FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a group of inventions: a bio-based heat-curable casting mass, a moulded body, and a method for producing the moulded body. Bio-based heat-curable casting mass includes: (a) a mixture of multiple monofunctional methacrylic monomers, or acrylic and methacrylic monomers, wherein one monomer is a monomer made of a recycled material, and one or multiple monomers are plant or animal-based monomers, (b) one or multiple plant or animal-based polyfunctional acrylic biomonomers, or acrylic and methacrylic biomonomers, (c) multiple polymers or copolymers selected from polymethacrylates, polyols, esters, made of a recycled material or plant or animal-based, (d) and inorganic particles a natural filler. The proportion of monofunctional acrylic and/or methacrylic monomers and polyfunctional acrylic and methacrylic biomonomers is 10 to 40% wt. The proportion of polymer, or polymers, or copolymers is 1 to 16% wt. The proportion of inorganic filler particles is 44 to 89% wt. The moulded body made applying the casting mass constitutes a kitchen sink, shower tray, a wash sink, a bathtub, a work surface, or a floor, wall or ceiling panel. Method for manufacturing a moulded body, including supplying the casting mass into a mould wherein the mass is polymerised at a temperature higher than room temperature constituting 60 to 140°C, followed by removing the polymerised moulded from the mould and cooling.
EFFECT: creation of a heat-curable casting mass exhibiting improved mechanical properties, such as impact hardness and scratch resistance, as well as greater environmental sustainability.
