SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture for use as fungicides in agriculture and as hydrophobizers in construction. The method for obtaining calcium polysulfide involves the interaction of calcium oxide and crushed sulfur in water. The interaction is carried out at a temperature of 40-50°C bringing up to 80°C, they are kept for 2-3 hours and stopped when the density of the resulting aqueous solution of calcium polysulfide is 1.18-1.20 g/cm3. In this case, the resulting hydrogen sulfide and an aqueous solution of calcium polysulfide are returned to the process and interact until the density of an aqueous solution of calcium polysulfide is 1.25-1.28 g/cm3.

EFFECT: creation of an improved method for obtaining calcium polysulfide, which makes it possible to obtain a concentrated solution of calcium polysulfide with a density reaching values of 1.25-1.28 g/cm3, as well as to eliminate the problem of hydrogen sulfide utilization and its release into the environment.
