FIELD: ice technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ice technology devices; it is intended for cutting ice in works for making ice free areas, exploration of glaciers and piles of sea ice – hummocks and ground ice, extraction of materials and equipment frozen in ice, and other similar works related to ice breaking. Heated water is used as a heat carrier. The device consists of a hollow case of a rectangular cross-section, at ends of which sleeves with inner thread are installed, communicating with a case cavity, at edges of which a number of threaded holes is made for installation of automatic nozzles, axes of which are parallel to axes of side sleeves, and nozzles themselves open water jet release only when contacting ice. On sidewalls of the case, between holes, a number of vertical grooves is made with a depth and a width decreasing to the middle of the case for reception of ice protruding on slot walls and its melting, which provides the formation of uniform walls of the slot. In the upper part of side sleeves, guiding and supplying pipes are installed, wherein upper ends of pipes are rigidly connected to each other by a transverse pipe, through which hot water is supplied to guiding pipes and further to the ice cutter case. In the lower part of side sleeves, in the first cutting, two nozzles are installed, in the second and subsequent cuttings, one nozzle and a guiding rod are installed for prevention of deflection of the device from the set direction.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability and maintenance of a high cutting speed, when using a device for cutting ice piles, such as hummocks and ground ice, as well as in the extraction of an ice cutter from a slot.
