GROUND ICE CUTTER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2148757 C1

FIELD: melting of ice blocks from ice masses over the entire contour and on the ground. SUBSTANCE: the ice cutter has a frame with the working member. The latter represents a quarter of a cylindrical pipe, whose curved surface is extended sinusoidally in the direction of cutting and has grooves. The surface of the working member is covered with a net of grooves. The frame accommodates a heating element. Its configuration repeats the shape of the working member. Attached to the inactive back side of the frame is a pipe-line with orifices for feeding antifreeze to the zone of ice cutting. The horizontal and vertical walls of the frame inactive part are lined with a heat insulator and heat limiter. The ice cutter may consist of small self-contained ice cutters. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
