FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the mining industry and can be used to combat spontaneous combustion of coal in coal mining enterprises. The method includes measuring the initial temperature of coal, sampling coal. At the same time, for coal at negative temperatures, the specific heat of melting of ice is taken into account, the rate constant of oxygen sorption by coal is determined at a temperature from 0 to +10°C for coal at negative temperatures, or at temperatures from +15 to +25°C for coal at positive temperatures, and the duration of the incubation period of spontaneous combustion of coal is calculated by the formula: , where: C is the specific heat capacity of coal accumulation; Tc is the critical temperature of spontaneous combustion of coal; T0 is the initial temperature of coal accumulations; j is the heat of evaporation of water; W is the initial humidity of the coal cluster; X is the natural gas content of coal; qd is the specific heat of methane desorption; α is the air oxygen absorption coefficient; C0 is the oxygen concentration at the entrance to the coal cluster; q0 is the specific heat of oxygen sorption by coal; g is the specific heat of melting ice, cal/g for coal located at negative temperatures; CT is the rate constant of oxygen sorption by coal, ml/(g⋅h), determined at a temperature from 0 to +10°C for coal at negative temperatures, or at temperatures from +15 to +25°C for coal at positive temperatures.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the method for determining the incubation period of spontaneous combustion of coal.
