FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, namely to the production of high-strength chromium-molybdenum steel used for the manufacture of blade cutting tools. In a vacuum induction furnace, steel containing components is smelted at the following ratio, wt. %: carbon 0.350-0.400, silicon 0.200-0.370, manganese 0.500-0.600, chromium 0.400-0.570, molybdenum 0.400-0.540, sulfur no more than 0.009, phosphorus no more than 0.020, iron the rest. Subsequent thermomechanical processing of the molten steel is carried out by ausforming according to the mode: heating to a temperature of 840-900°C, plastic deformation with compression of 15-20%, cooling in water followed by low tempering at a temperature of 200°C.

EFFECT: invention ensures the production of high-strength steel with increased mechanical properties.
