FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: manufacture of billets for cutting blade tools of agricultural excavation equipment from high-strength steel. The method includes casting an ingot, heating it in a muffle furnace to a deformation temperature, deformation by forging into a billet, cooling to room temperature, and heat treatment. The ingot is cast from high-strength steel having the following chemical composition, wt.%: carbon 0.40-0.45, silicon 1.70-1.90, chromium 0.70-0.90, manganese 1.00-1.50, molybdenum 0.20-0.30, sulfur not more than 0.01, phosphorus not more than 0.015, iron - the rest. Heat treatment includes austenitization at 900°C with a holding time of 5 minutes, cooling in a hot molten salt medium at a temperature of 140 to 250°C for 15 seconds and distribution at 400°C for 60 seconds in molten salt.
EFFECT: manufactured billets have high strength and ductility.
