FIELD: fire protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fire extinguishing technique using extinguishing powders capable of thermal decomposition with the release of carbon dioxide. The method for extinguishing a fire in closed rooms of ammunition depots with a fire extinguishing powder capable of thermal decomposition with the release of carbon dioxide consists in delivering the specified powder to the fire source, and the fire extinguishing powder is pre-packed in suspended ceiling panels in the form of boxes made of non-combustible polymer material caprolon and coated with a low-melting protective polymer shell of etrol with a specified melting point of 70°C, from the side facing the floor, moreover, when the protective shell material melts due to gravity, the extinguishing powder falls on the ignition source and prevents the burning of ammunition stacks from going into an explosion.
EFFECT: expansion of the range of fire extinguishing solutions.
