FIELD: diagnostic equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at in-line diagnostics of pipelines. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that an in-tube smart pig with an adjustable speed of movement for the inspection of pipelines contains a base housing with supporting centering elements, measuring instruments and a speed control system in the form of a central bypass channel located in the base housing, including an emergency braking system, while the smart pig is made in the form three separate sections pivotally connected to each other: battery, measuring instruments section and speed control section with a bypass channel made in the form of a Laval nozzle connected to additional peripheral channels to reduce the area of separation flow in the expanding nozzle area, and a rotary valve regulating the degree of opening of the channel installed in a narrow place of the central bypass channel and mechanically connected to the shaft of the electric drive, and the zone of the peripheral channels adjacent to the central channel is made in the form of a snail chamber.

EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of developing an energy-efficient inspection smart pig of reduced mass with a speed control device that ensures the collection of diagnostic information evenly along the length of the low-pressure gas pipeline (up to 10 atm).
