FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: in the method for applying an "electric shaft" system in the drive of vehicles with an autonomous AC power source supplemented by a low-voltage accumulator battery, a frequency converter, a step-up voltage transformer, and an electric differential, in the "starting" and "moving at low speeds" modes, the drive motors of the electric differential are powered via the voltage transformer, and at working speeds, the motors of the electric differential are powered directly from a synchronous generator articulated by shafts with an internal combustion engine. In both modes, discharge and charge current circuits are created through overcurrent relay coils and ohmic resistances in the circuits thereof. The frequency of the converter is changed following the pulse regulation method based on the "pulse/pause" binary code, and at working speeds, the battery is automatically charged from the generator. The double-channel power source control system allows the synchronous generator to be connected in the first mode.
EFFECT: drive is simplified.
