FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for the production of a block copolymer composition for use as an asphalt modifier and an asphalt composition including a block copolymer composition obtained by such a method. This method includes: addition of aromatic vinyl monomer and a compound of the formula (1) M-X-R1R2 to a hydrocarbon solvent, and mixing to obtain the first mixed solution; addition of a polymerization initiator to the first mixed solution, and polymerization to obtain the second mixed solution; addition of conjugated diene monomer to the second mixed solution, and polymerization to obtain the third mixed solution; addition of a binding agent to the third mixed solution to conduct a binding reaction. M in the compound of the formula (1) is Na or K; X is N or O; R1 and R2 are independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, where, if X is O, then R2 is absent. The binding agent is a silane-based compound selected from a group consisting of dimethyl dichlorosilane, methyl chlorosilane, methoxysilane, glycidoxitrimethoxysilane, and oxidipropylbis(trimethoxysilane). The compound of the formula (1) is added in amount from 0.26 to 0.8 wt. fractions of the total content of 100 weight fractions of aromatic vinyl monomer and conjugated diene monomer. The asphalt composition includes a block copolymer composition obtained by this method and asphalt and has efficiency of combination by means of a binding group derived from the binding agent from 50 to 80%. The asphalt composition has a softening temperature of 71.2°C or higher. The asphalt composition includes a block copolymer composition obtained by this method, asphalt, and a crosslinking agent and has efficiency of combination by means of a binding group derived from the binding agent from 50 to 80%. The asphalt composition has a softening temperature of 83.6°C or higher.
EFFECT: development of a method for the production of a block copolymer composition included in an asphalt modifier for use in polymer-modified asphalt and, consequently, provision of an asphalt composition by inclusion of the block copolymer composition obtained by such a method in order to maintain all physical properties at the same high level with an increase in a softening temperature.
