SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for making dolls and can be used in the manufacture of soft toys. The effect is achieved by the fact that in the known method for manufacturing a doll, including the manufacture of a head blank, covering the blank with a fabric shell, pulling the fabric shell around the elements of the front part of the doll's head, attaching the head to the body of the doll, the doll head blank is formed from polyurethane with convex face elements, with a recess for the fastening element, as well as with through holes connecting the recess for the fastening element with points on the front part of the doll’s head, designed to tighten the fabric shell, after which the front part of the doll’s head is covered with knitwear and at the indicated points the fabric shell is pulled around the convex elements of the front part the doll's head with the help of pulling threads attached to the shell, while the free ends of the pulling threads are connected to the fastening element, ensuring their tension, after which the head is attached to the doll's body, the knitwear on the head blank is pulled to the end and sewn up with a blind seam.

EFFECT: development of a method that improves the manufacturability of the head of a textile doll and the possibility of an accurate embodiment of the head model developed by the author in each of the products.
