SUBSTANCE: invention relates to animal husbandry and can be used in cattle breeding during the calve growing period. Method for raising the productivity of young cattle includes adding an echinacea-based extract to the main diet of young cattle. The echinacea extract is produced by water-ethanol extraction followed by vacuum low-temperature drying. The extract includes alkaloids 1.30%, flavonoids 2.12%, lignins 17.50%, tannins 5.20%, and coumarins 2.54% as active substances. The echinacea extract is administered to young cattle orally at a dose of 4 g per livestock unit per day for 90 days.
EFFECT: possibility of increasing the live weight of young cattle.
