SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for cooling part of the powder gases generated when firing from a blanked or firearm, in which part of the resulting powder gases is removed from the bore through the channel for removing part of the powder gases to the nozzle of the Rank-Hilsch vortex tube, in which the gas flow is divided into a hot stream, which is brought outside, and to a cold stream, which is directed to the structural elements of the weapon with the help of additional tubes or hoses.

EFFECT: providing cooling with powder gases generated during firing in firearms or cooled weapons, increasing the service life of weapons.
