FIELD: testing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of research of the properties of materials. A method for non-destructive testing of the microstructure of steel 15H1M1F-Shch is disclosed, including several stages of mechanical grinding and polishing of the surface of the steel under study, while the method involves alternating multiple chemical etching with a reagent, which includes a solution containing, per 100 ml: 2-4 ml hydrochloric acid HCl with a concentration of hydrogen chloride 35-38%, the rest up to 100 ml is methyl alcohol CH3(OH), with the addition of 1.8÷2.2 g per 100 ml of crystalline picric acid HOS6H2(NO2)3, and polishing of the test surface of the specified steel; moreover, the reagent is applied using a capillary dispenser made of acid-resistant material; the study of the microstructure of the metal of the resulting section on the surface of the steel under study using a portable optical microscope or obtaining a replica from the section, followed by the separation of the received replica from the section and the study of the separated replica on a stationary microscope.
EFFECT: invention provides for obtaining a slot for metallographic analysis on the investigated surface of steel 15H1M1F-Shch with identified boundaries between phases and grains, possible defects, as well as colored structural components, and reducing the concentration of harmful substances in the air of the working area during chemical etching of the surface under study.
