FIELD: defectoscopy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation of properties of materials, namely to nondestructive inspection (analysis) of microstructure of welded joint metal, and can be used, in particular, for analysis of microstructure of welded joints of pipelines of thermal power plants. Method of nondestructive inspection of metal microstructure involves preparation of section on analyzed surface of equipment, obtaining replica from section by means of application on surface of section of material in combination with solvent and holding of this material on section, obtaining the obtained replica from the section and subsequent study of the replica on a stationary optical microscope. Replica is a film obtained from lacquer consisting of the following components in wt%: suspension polyvinyl chloride – 15, cyclohexanone – 65, and ethyl acetate – 20.

EFFECT: enabling production of replicas of metal microstructure of welded joints on inclined surfaces of the sample and providing high quality of repair of welded joints of pipelines due to quality control of complete removal of damaged metal.
