FIELD: rocket technology.
SUBSTANCE: detonating pulsating rocket-air-jet engine (hereinafter referred to as DPRAJE) relates to the field of combined tunable rocket-air-jet engines of pulsating detonation combustion, effectively operating in a wide range: from zero to supersonic in several Mach and further to near-space speeds, which can be used for long-haul, suborbital and/or space transport systems. The DPRAJE is capable of operating in the mode function of an atmospheric supersonic air-jet engine or in the mode function of the DPRAJE as a pulsating rocket engine, when flying in airless outer space. It can use any organic fuel and any oxidizer, the strictly dosed fuel-oxidizing mixture of which in the detonation chamber of the volumetric explosion of the DPRAJE strictly corresponds to the conditions of the occurrence of a volumetric explosion, in a closed volume in the presence of an initiating pulse. A variant of the DPRAJE containing an MHD generator in the design of the main output jet nozzle of the DPRAJE can be used as a source of electricity during flights in airless outer space.
EFFECT: expansion of the range of rocket engines.
