FIELD: powder metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and can be used when pressing powdered materials resulting in briquettes of fine powders introduced into metal melts as alloying additives. The workpiece made of an anisotropic material is placed in the closed cavity of a matrix made with three through channels located along the axes in a rectangular coordinate system. Two of the channels are through side channels located in the same plane at right angles. An axial strain force is applied to the ends of the workpiece along said three mutually perpendicular axes by simultaneously moving the paired punches in a pair and in succession. A "compression-shift" or "compression-shift-compression" strain pattern is implemented herein, changing the pattern of the stress-strain state of the anisotropic material of the workpiece and the direction of increment of the main strains.

EFFECT: expanded range of process capabilities of the equipment.
