FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: superconducting magnetic device contains an excitation winding assembly with winding turns, which, when operated, are electrically superconducting. The excitation winding assembly is connected between connection ports for supply of voltage. A switching module switches a subsection of winding turns of the excitation winding assembly between its electrically superconducting and electrically resistive states, wherein the specified subsection forms switching winding in a circuit between connection ports. In an operating state, when both switching winding and excitation winding (windings) are superconducting and carry continuous electric current, excitation winding (windings) and switching winding together generate a stationary magnetic field. According to the invention, switching turns have significant contribution to the magnetic field. Winding turns of the excitation winding assembly, which can switch between their electrically conducting and resistive states, form switching winding. So, switching winding is a part of the excitation winding assembly and has significant contribution to the magnetic field generated by the excitation winding assembly.
EFFECT: obtaining a superconducting magnetic device.
