AUTONOMOUS HYDROPHYSICAL STATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01V1/38

Abstract RU 2783188 C1

FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for studying the World Ocean and can be applied in the designs of systems installed on the seabed and utilising floating/submerged buoys connected to the bottom part by an unwinding/winding SPC cable for interaction with external systems. The bottom part of the station consists of a sealed instrument compartment accommodating electronic equipment, hydrophysical sensors and a power source, an electric winch, and a non-sealed water-filled compartment. The floating part is made in the form of a buoy with positive buoyancy containing an electronic unit and a radio antenna. The buoy is connected to the bottom part by an SPC cable wound onto the drum of the electric winch. The SPC cable powers the buoy equipment and provides information exchange between external systems and the bottom instrument compartment. The bottom and floating parts of the station communicate without electrical contact. For this purpose, two hydroacoustic reversible transducers located on the same axis with the active sides thereof facing each other are placed in the non-sealed compartment. One of the converters is fixed, while the other rotates together with the shaft of the electric winch when the buoy is floating/being submerged. Modem equipment is placed in the instrument compartment for acoustic communication. A charger configured to accumulate energy when the buoy is in the lower position is additionally placed in the floating part. Energy is transferred from the power source to the charger via an acoustic channel as well.

EFFECT: expanded range of operating capabilities of the AHS according to the nomenclature of controlled parameters of the marine environment; higher noise resistance of information transmission between the bottom and floating parts of the AHS; and ease of installation of the AHS on the seabed.
