FIELD: musical percussion instruments.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to musical percussion instruments and parts for them, specifically, to a support structure for the sound element of instruments of the "xylophone" type and an instrument using it, including the design of musical percussion instruments that reproduce music using the sound generated by the vibration of the sound element. The support structure is made of resilient elastic materials in the form of a cylinder, equipped at the ends with annular protrusions, provided with cone-shaped protrusions facing towards each other, the distance between the tops of which is determined by the width of the sound element. The supporting structure simultaneously performs the functions of a support and a shock absorber in a musical instrument.
EFFECT: expansion of the range of support structures for a percussion musical instrument, providing a reduction in the mechanical impact of the support structure on the vibrations of the sound element and, as a result, an increase in sound quality; simplification of the design of musical instruments using the inventive support-shock absorber.
