FIELD: musical instruments.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to combined musical instruments, which is a combination of musical instruments of different operating principle. Modular musical instrument comprises housing with modules, each of which includes built-in sounding elements of type different from type of built-in sounding elements of another module, housing is collapsible in form of polyhedron, which faces are detachably joined to each other by means of detachable connections, and at least one of the faces of which is made in the form of a support plate with holes, and other faces are separate working modules, made in the form of plates, in the central area of which there are built-in sounding elements. Housing can be made as a cube, a straight homogeneous triangular prism, a regular homogeneous four-sided pyramid or a regular tetrahedron.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at expansion of acoustic and performance capabilities, as well as providing change of sound reproduction spectrum and high acoustic characteristics and ease of use.
