FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in thermal imaging devices with cooled matrix photodetector devices. An optical system of a thermal imaging device consists of the first component containing the first positive convex-concave, the second negative, and the third positive concave-convex lenses, the second component containing the first negative concave-convex, the second biconvex, and the third negative concave-convex lenses, the third component containing the first biconvex, the second negative concave-convex, and the third positive convex-concave lenses, the fourth component containing two positive lenses, and a photodetector device with a cooled diaphragm. The second and the third lenses of the first component are installed with the possibility of joint movement along the optical axis. The second and the fourth components are installed with the possibility of alternating input-output in an optical tract in a space between the first and the third components.
EFFECT: increase in the probability of detection and recognition of objects due to provision of necessary defocusing of cold radiation of a photodetector device, reflected from optical surfaces, both in a calibration mode and in an operation mode, while saving compactness.
