FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology and entomology, in particular, to a method for cultivating insects of the Coccinellidae family of the species Coccinella septempunctata. The method is characterised by the feeding of the insects being conducted according to the following scheme: in spring and autumn, the Coccinellidae are fed with wet and dried raisins; apple pieces; cotton wool soaked in 10% sugar syrup, at a feeding frequency of 2 times a day. The conditions of keeping the insects herein are as follows: ambient temperature of 12 to 14 °C; humidity of 40 to 60%; illumination of 20 to 30 lux. Herewith, the insects are contained in plastic, glass, or wooden containers covered with a lid provided with 4 to 5 holes with a diameter of 1 to 2 mm per 1 cm2. A litter layer is laid on the bottom of the container, with a height of 3 to 4 cm above the bottom, consisting of the following components, % wt.: wood shavings 30, leaves 40, plant stems 30.
EFFECT: possibility of achieving a high level of survival and viability of Coccinellidae larvae.
