FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental protection and can be used to protect underground drinking water, soil and soil from pollution by heavy metals and radionuclides in areas where anthropogenic waste is placed. The method for creating a vertical protective sorbing geochemical barrier along the perimeter of the site for placing liquid wastes containing heavy metals and radionuclides consists in the formation of nanosized artificial authigenic aluminosilicate films on the surface of sand particles. The pore space of the sand is filled with an oxalic-aluminosilicate solution (SAS-solution) based on liquid glass with a silicate modulus value of 2.8 to 3.1 and a density of 1.19 g/cm3. The resulting sand-gel mass is mechanically destroyed and dried at a temperature above 0°C until the sorbent material filtration coefficient is at least 90% of the filtration coefficient of the sand used. Then the sand-gel material is poured into the trench or the sand-gel material is laid on dry compacted stable soil.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the filtration coefficient of the geochemical barrier.
