FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases (IPD). Dental gel contains a dry extract of common barberry root, sodium alginate, glycerin, benzalkonium chloride and purified water with the following content, wt.%: dry extract of common barberry root - 1.0; sodium alginate - 3.0; glycerol - 18.0; benzalkonium chloride - 0.005; purified water - the rest. The proposed dental gel has a specific antimicrobial effect against periodontopathogenic microorganisms, normalizes microcirculation in periodontal tissues.
EFFECT: gel has optimal technological characteristics, which determine its thixotropy and light, uniform distribution.
