SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway transport, in particular to the structures of the bodies of railway freight cars. The body of a freight car contains a frame, side and end (3) walls mounted on the frame, a roof including two shutters (4.1), as well as mechanisms for opening and closing the roof, including locking mechanisms (5.5) and mechanisms for pressing the central part of the roof. The mechanism for opening and closing the roof contains drive levers (5.1) connected to the end parts of the flaps (4.1), guide levers (5.3) with grips pivotally mounted on the end (3) wall of the body pivotally connected to the flaps (4.1) in the central part of the roof and with a mechanism for pressing the central part of the roof containing a handle, pivotally fixed to the end (3) wall, a rod pivotally connected to the handle and lever. The drive levers (5.1) are connected to the end parts of the flaps (4.1) pivotally. The lever of the pressing mechanism of the central part of the roof is pivotally connected to the pusher moving along the pusher guide and pushing down the grip of the guide lever.
