FIELD: paper and cardboard production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technologies for producing paper and cardboard. A product made from a recyclable material with barrier properties based on paper or cardboard includes a coating of a water-repellent composition applied to the surface of the product. A coating of a hydrophobizing composition with a glass transition temperature of +5 to +30°C is applied in at least one layer with a weight gain of at least 4 g/m². Hydrophobic composition contains 80-95 wt. % aqueous polymer dispersion, 3-10 wt. % wax emulsion, including waxes with a melting point of at least 60°C, 0-10 wt. % filler. An aqueous polymer dispersion was synthesized by emulsion polymerization of monomers in the presence of initiators, copolymerizable surfactants, and colloidal stabilizers.

EFFECT: recyclable product is provided, while having the ability to heat seal and a set of barrier properties necessary for use as the basis for disposable packaging and utensils.
