FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for extraction of ethylene glycol from a water flow containing ethylene glycol. The proposed method includes following stages: (a) supply of the specified water flow containing ethylene glycol to an evaporation stage in a multistage evaporator, performed in 3-4 stages, to obtain a concentrated flow containing ethylene glycol; (b) supply of the specified concentrated flow containing ethylene glycol to the first dehydration stage in the first dehydrator, which is a distillation column equipped with plates or a nozzle, equivalent to theoretical stages from 2 to 10, operating at excessive pressure in the range from 0.3 to 3 Bar e. p. (Bar of excessive pressure), to obtain a partially dehydrated ethylene glycol flow, (c) supply of the specified partially dehydrated ethylene glycol flow to the second dehydration stage in the second dehydrator operating under vacuum to obtain a dehydrated ethylene glycol flow. At the same time, a vaporous upper flow from the last evaporating container in the multistage evaporator is used as technological vapor, wherein at least part of the specified technological vapor is used for supply of heat to the first dehydrator.
EFFECT: creation of an improved method for the production of ethylene glycol, which requires less external supply of vapor.
