FIELD: field devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an interface device (10) for connecting at least one control device (20) to several field devices (30). The interface device (10) contains a carrier board (40) with several signal channels (901-90n), a connector (701-70n) located between the first and second connectors of each signal channel (901-90n) and configured to electrically and mechanical connection with the second mating connector (81) of the signal processing device (80). Each signal channel (901-90n) contains an electrical connector (1001-100n) which is configured to detachably connect the corresponding surge protection module (110), each connector (1001-100n) being electrically connected to a resistor (1301-130n) and an overvoltage removal device (150), which is located at least partially on and/or inside the carrier board (40) and is configured to remove emerging overvoltages and/or overcurrents.
EFFECT: creation of a coupling device for connecting at least one control device to several field devices, which can be operated flexibly with or without surge protection devices, wherein the high currents caused by overvoltages are dissipated via the carrier board without affecting the field power transmitted through the interface device signals.
