FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway transport, namely, to brake shoes of railway vehicles. Brake shoe comprises a friction material with a curved steel strip and a wire frame made of two connected frames, an internal one and an external one, pressed into the back thereof. The connections of the ends of the frames are made without increasing the thickness of the wire frame along the thickness of the brake shoe and are located on half of the wire frame near the outer side surface of the brake shoe, resulting in the minimum thickness of the brake shoe allowed for operation being reduced. The curved steel strip is made with a thickness of 0.25 mm or more, the through holes of said strip occupy 1/3 to 2/3 of the area of the strip, forming a central and an auxiliary bosses made of the material of the friction element consisting of a metal ceramic material.
EFFECT: improved operation characteristics of the brake shoe.
