SUBSTANCE: water anchor is intended for self-pulling an automobile in cases when no objects suitable for hooking the winch rope are available nearby but there is a water body. Anchor comprises a non-closed soft cylindrical shell. Loops are attached to the shell along the perimeter of the ends and around the circumference in the back. Soft circumferential ropes are passed into the end loops and the ends thereof are closed. Guide rings made of a rigid structural material are attached to the circumferential ropes along the perimeter using flexible joints. Floats are attached on top of the guide rings using flexible joints. Slings connected with the rope of the self-pulling winch are attached along the perimeter of the front ring. An anchor is attached from below to the back guide ring using a flexible joint. A control line is passed into the loops of the back of the soft shell. A ring is attached to one end of the line. The other long end of the line is passed thereto, and the line is brought onto the shore of the water body. A sliding loop is formed around the back of the soft shell. The water anchor is placed in the water body in the folded state. The winch is activated, and the front guide ring is pulled. The shell is unfolded and filled with water. When the control line is pulled, the back of the cylindrical shell is compressed and assumes the shape of a water-filled bag. When the rope continues to be pulled by the winch, the water-filled soft shell acts as a gravity anchor.
