SUBSTANCE: method for removal of methane-air mixture from the waste area is declared. The method includes the excavation of passages opening and delineating the extraction pillar, including a ventilation furnace and a belt entry. The method also includes drilling at least one degassing well and connecting to it a degassing pipeline located in a ventilation furnace connected by breakoffs to a belt entry and waste area. The method also includes the subsequent suction of the methane-air mixture through a degassing pipeline. As the mining face progresses, the breakoffs connected to the waste area by jumpers are closed, connecting the breakoff closest to the mining face with the degassing pipeline. A gas-suction fan is used, placed in the degassing pipeline near the connection of the degassing pipeline with the degassing well in such a way that a discharge is created in the degassing pipeline in the section from the gas-suction fan to the junction of the degassing pipeline with the breakoff closest to the mining face.

EFFECT: increase in the safety of miners, an increase in the efficiency of isolating the removal of methane-air mixture from the waste area of the existing mining face.
