FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular, to the manufacture of a product with a damascene pattern of stainless steel and a workpiece for its manufacture. The steel workpiece is made of at least two different nitrogen-doped stainless steels having a chrome content from 11 wt.% to 25 wt.%, wherein at least one of steels contains nitrogen in amount from 0.10 wt.% to 5.0 wt.%, and, optionally, at least one of steels contains nitrogen in amount from 0.01 wt.% to 0.5 wt.%. For the production of a workpiece, a capsule is made, containing at least two stainless steels located in the form of parallel or unparallel elongated layers, at least one of which is made in the form of powder. The capsule is subjected to hot isostatic pressing to obtain a workpiece, after which forging and hot rolling of the workpiece are carried out to an intermediate size, and, optionally, deformation of an elongated structure is carried out by means of mechanical processing.
EFFECT: obtainment of a product with high corrosion resistance, high hardness, and high impact strength is provided.
